No special occasion necessary. Invite your best gal pals over for brunch and laughs and serve up these delicious pretty pink hibiscus cocktails featuring La Marca Prosecco.
It’s no secret that I love a little bit of fancy, especially when it comes to entertaining!
But I’m also all about effortless and easy because the point of entertaining isn’t about working yourself weary. It’s about making your guests feel special, having fun and building stronger connections with others.
Cheers!
In that spirit, I’m sharing some easy (but fancy) brunch ideas and three different hibiscus cocktails made with La Marca Prosecco. Your best gal pals are going to love these pink drink ideas, and you’ll love how easy it is to create a fancy spread in mere minutes.
I’ve included three different hibiscus cocktails so you’ll have options, depending on the ingredients you have on hand or that you can find at your local store.
Looking for more brunch-worthy cocktails? Try this apple cider mimosa or a pomegranate mimosa. Both are great for the holidays!
The first is made with candied hibiscus flowers, which can be purchased online or at specialty markets, and topped with bubbly La Marca Prosecco.
I had a version of this hibiscus cocktail at a fabulous bookstore/bar we discovered on one of our trips to Asheville. I felt so fancy sipping it while reading in a comfy club chair, so I decided to recreate the cocktail at home.
To make one, just add a candied hibiscus flower to a champagne flute or coupe glass.
Then, fill the glass with prosecco. Fancy, but oh so easy! (The candied flower is edible, too!)
Since you may not have candied hibiscus flowers on hand, I came up with two other versions of this pink drink using homemade hibiscus simple syrup and hibiscus-infused vodka, which can also be used as an extract for cooking.
To make the hibiscus simple syrup, combine 2 cups water and 1 cup granulated sugar in a heavy bottomed saucepan. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and add four or five hibiscus tea bags. Allow to steep for 30 minutes, or longer, before removing and discarding the tea bags.
To make the hibiscus cocktail, add 1 ounce of the hibiscus simple syrup to a glass and top with La Marca Prosecco.
Any remaining simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for several months.
The final hibiscus cocktail is made with hibiscus-infused vodka, or hibiscus extract, and prosecco.
To make the infused hibiscus vodka, place two hibiscus tea bags in a pint-sized mason jar. (You can also use dried, food-grade hibiscus flowers. Just fill the jar about ⅓ of the way full with them.)
Fill the jar with vodka and add the lid.
Allow the hibiscus tea or flowers to infuse for 30 minutes to an hour. The liquid will take on a pretty pink color.
Remove the tea bags or strain the flowers so that only the liquid remains. You can store the hibiscus infused vodka in your pantry, and it will last for years.
To use it in prosecco cocktails, pour an ounce in your glass. Add a sugar cube, if desired, then fill the champagne glass with prosecco.
You can choose to serve just one of these cocktails at your brunch, or provide the ingredients for all three so your friends can taste test and pick their favorite.
Serving La Marca Prosecco is an easy way to elevate your everyday brunch. Here are a few other simple things you can do to make your get-together really sparkle:
- Ice down the prosecco in a pretty silver (or silverplate) ice bucket. (Mine is from a yard sale!)
- Serve drinks in pretty champagne flutes or coupe glasses.
- Use cloth or paper napkins that match the pretty blue label on the La Marca bottle.
- Serve the candied hibiscus and hibiscus syrup in crystal. (Again, mine are from yard sales)
- Incorporate both small and large bottles of La Marca Prosecco in your party spread.
- Dish up some tasty baked goods, like airy French macarons, on pretty china plates (The plates are from my wedding; the macarons are from the bakery because fancy doesn’t have to be homemade.)
Most importantly, don’t wait for a special occasion to celebrate and toast the good things in life with your friends.
Head to your local grocery store and pick up a few bottles of La Marca Prosecco. (You’ll find it in the wine section, near the champagne and sparkling wine.)
Now you have an excuse to brunch! What are you waiting for?
Don’t forget to pin these delicious hibiscus cocktails so you can make them at your next brunch.
