Ingredients
To make this candy-coated holiday snack mix, you’ll need:
- Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses – These usually hit store shelves in November and December.
- White chocolate baking chips – Ghirardelli and Nestle are good options because they melt well.
- Chex corn cereal
- Chex rice cereal
- Pretzel twists – Use mini pretzel twists or, if you can find them, use pretzels in holiday shapes.
- M&M’s candies – Look for the seasonal green and red bag.
- Mini peppermint flavored marshmallows – Stores usually start carrying these in November and December.
- Crushed peppermint candy – You can crush starlight mints or candy canes or buy them already crushed.

How to Make Christmas Chex Mix
This recipe comes together quickly — in just minutes — with minimal prep time or work.
- In a large measuring cup or bowl, combine the two types of cereal, pretzels, M&M’s, peppermint marshmallows and crushed peppermints.
- In a separate large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the Candy Cane Hershey’s Kisses and white chocolate baking chips.
- Heat the Hershey’s Kisses and white chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at 50 percent power. Stir well and microwave in 10- to 15-second intervals, at 50 percent power, until the chocolate is fully melted.
- Microwave cooking times may vary. Do not overcook the white chocolate and Hershey’s Kisses mixture, as it could burn and become unusable. You may also use a double boiler on the stovetop to melt the white chocolate chips and Hershey’s Kisses.
- When the white chocolate mixture is fully melted, add the cereal and other ingredients to the bowl in batches. Stir gently to coat the entire cereal mixture with chocolate.
- Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden. Break cereal mix into pieces before serving.
