A Frozen POG Juice Vodka Slushie, made with vodka and Hawaiian POG juice, is the perfect summertime blended cocktail.
You’ll love this tropical, frozen twist on the classic screwdriver cocktail.
POG juice is a popular breakfast drink in Hawaii, made from a blend of passionfruit, orange and guava juices. You’ll also find it on the menu at Disney parks and resorts.
It’s a delicious swap for orange juice in cocktails, giving the drinks a mellow, fruity, tropical flavor. (Be sure to try my POG Juice Mimosa and POG Juice Hurricane Cocktail or these Wine Slushies.)

This recipe uses just two ingredients, and it’s so refreshing! One sip, and you’ll feel like you’ve been whisked away to Maui!
While I highly recommend making your own POG juice and keeping a pitcher of it in the fridge at all times, you can buy the juice online on the mainland or in grocery stores in Hawaii.

📖 Variations & Substitutions
With just two basic ingredients, this is a really simple cocktail. But you can jazz things up with some additions or ingredient swaps.
- For a more layered flavor profile, try a flavored vodka, such as pineapple, tropical, orange or a citrus blend.
- Substitute clear or spiced rum for the vodka.
- Add ½ ounce of grenandine, along with 2 ounces of spiced rum, to make a frozen POG Rum Sunset cocktail.
- Make a virgin drink by omitting the vodka from the recipe.
- Add a shot of liqueur, such as triple sec or Grand Marnier, along with the vodka.
- Add a handful of frozen pineapple or mango cubes to the cocktail before blending to make a fruitier drink.
Equipment
To make this a POG juice vodka slushie , you will need:
If you make a lot of smoothies or frozen drinks, I recommend investing in a high-powered blender with ice crushing capabilities. I have the KitchenAid K400, and love it.
Storage
This frozen vodka cocktail is best served immediately, right out of the blender, when it is slushy and frosty.
You can blend together the POG juice and cubes a bit ahead of time, and let the mixture chill in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes. When you’re ready to serve, stir in the vodka, mixing well. Or better yet, give it another quick spin in the blender.
