This space definitely needed it!

I consider myself pretty lucky to have a room all to myself to work and create (and hoard craft supplies!).
Since I spend so much time in here working and creating, I had to make it pretty and functional.
Since I first unveiled the space a few years ago, I’ve made a few changes. Like adding a new gray desk chair from World Market. It’s much more comfy than the chair I was originally using, and I love that it matches the gray IKEA boxes I use on my bookshelves to store glue, tape, tools and all kinds of craft supplies.
The bookcases beside the window are from IKEA’s Hemnes collection. You can pack a lot of supplies on those shelves! (And I have even more hidden in a closet.)
When I first moved into the craft room, I had a tall armoire on this wall for storage. But I replaced it recently with this IKEA Hemnes sideboard.
If offers better storage, plus a place on top for my printer, Minc and Cricut Explore Air. I love having a dedicated space for my craft machines. I use them so much more now that I can leave them out. (My Silhouette Cameo sits on my desktop, to the left of my computer.)
After publishing this post, I fancied up the sideboard just a bit to match the rest of the decor in my feminine home office and craft room.

These paint colors might provide a little hint. And I’ll share that transformation soon, I promise. I’m just waiting for a few important supplies to arrive.
Opposite my desk, I have a drop-leaf craft table (also from IKEA), where I can work on projects. I like keeping lots of supplies at hand, like all kinds of scissors, ribbon, rulers, pens and washi tape. (Love these washi tape organizers from Michael’s.)
If I had to pick a favorite thing about my craft room, it’s probably the gorgeous cornice my friend Suzy from Worthing Court made for me.
It was love at first sight when I found that fabric — Braemore’s Emperor’s Garden Blossom. (You can read more about how I chose the fabric here and also learn how to make your own upholstered cornice the professional way.)
Of course, I also love the chic geometric globe pendant light my dad helped me make.
It works with the girly glam vibe of the room, and I saved a fortune by DIYing it instead of buying a lighting fixture.
Speaking of DIYs, this vintage botanical artwork bulletin board is another favorite. I found a pretty gilded frame secondhand, ditched the painting and framed some pretty fabric and floral prints.
I love using vintage pottery to hold pens and other office supplies.

I’m surprised nothing was mentioned about what looks like the main desk that the gray office chair is used with. Not the workstation desk from IKEA but the other beautiful desk. Where can this desk be found?
