These Red Front Door Christmas Ornaments will add a colorful pop to your tree. Made from recycled legal pads, they take just 15 minutes to create.

It seems like all my projects lately involve front doors.

We recently gave our front door a makeover. I briefly considered painting it red, but we decided a stained wood finish was the best choice for our home.

But I still wanted a red front door for Christmas, so I made this adorable ornaments to hang on the tree.

It is similar to some ornaments I saw out shopping, but mine is made from a recycled legal pad. And it takes just 15 minutes to make.

Instructions

Cut a 6.25-inch by 3-inch rectangle from cardboard. The back of a legal pad is the perfect thickness.

Cut four smaller rectangles measuring 1 inch by 2.5 inches for the door panels.

Paint with two coats of red craft paint, allowing to dry between coats. I used DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint in Barn Red.

While the paint is drying, twist a garland tie into a wreath, trimming any excess. Tie a bow and hot glue it to the wreath.

Once the red paint has dried, use white craft paint to add snowy accents to the top of the door and two of the door panels.

Sprinkle with white glitter. I used DecoArt Americana Paint in Snow (Titanium) White and DecoArt Glamour Dust, a fine glitter that adheres to wet paint.

One the glittered paint has dried completely, use dimensional adhesive squares to attach the panels to the door.

Using cutting pliers, snip the sharp point off a thumb tack and hot glue it onto the door as a knob. Alternately, you could use a brass brad for the doorknob.

Hot glue the wreath to the door. Make a hanger out of coordinating ribbon and attach it to the back of the door with hot glue.
