These DIY glitter champagne glasses will bring a little glitz and glamour to an Oscars party, New Year’s Eve celebration or other black-tie event.
Bubbly tastes better when it’s served from a glitzy champagne flute.
I’m in love with these glitter champagne glasses I made for my Oscars viewing party.
They’re so fancy!
And they were also easy and cheap to make using stemless champagne flutes from Dollar Tree.
Supplies for Glitter Champagne Glasses

Instructions for Glitter Champagne Glasses
Clean glasses well with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry completely.
Using the paintbrush, brush a thin coat of dishwasher-safe DecouPage a third of the way up and all the way around the glass. Be careful not to get any DecouPage on the bottom of the glass.
Sprinkle chunky gold glitter on the wet DecouPage glue and shake off any excess.
When I’m glittering, I like to work on a piece of paper or a tray. That way, I can easily pour the unused glitter back in the jar for later use.
Set the champagne glasses upside down and allow the first layer of glitter and DecouPage to dry completely. I recommend waiting 30 minutes between coats to make sure everything is completely dry.
When the first coat is dry, gently brush on a second coat of DecouPage over the glittered surface. Sprinkle with more glitter to cover any bare spots. Allow to dry completely.
Next, seal the champagne glasses with two or three coats of DecouPage. Apply the sealer in thin coats and allow to dry completely between each coat.
The DecouPage goes on milky, but it dries clean.
Be careful that you don’t apply it too thickly as it can drip down the glasses. If this happens, use a paper towel to wipe off any drips while the glue is still wet. Or gently peel off the dried sealant once dried.
Though the DecouPage sealant is dishwasher safe when used with paper or fabric on glass, I wouldn’t run these glitter champagne glasses through the dishwasher.
Instead, I recommend gently hand washing them. That’s what I’ve done with mine, and they’ve held up well.
To glam up my glitter champagne glasses even more, I made a decorative cocktail stirrer using one of the leftover glittered stars from my DIY party streamers.
And how fun is this Sensi Moscato 18K Rose I found to serve in my fancy flutes? I’m going to need to buy another bottle for the Oscars!
