Recreate the vacation vibe at home with a tropical charcuterie board featuring fresh fruit, Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP® from Whole Foods Market and other island-inspired snacks. Serve it on the porch, patio or poolside or pair it with a beachy film for the next family movie night.
Vacations might be on hold for the moment, but we’re enjoying the island life at home. For snacktime, I created a tasty tropical charcuterie board that we don’t have to feel guilty about noshing on.
Charcturie snack boards are popular for entertaining, but they’re also great for stay-at-home moments with the family, It’s a great way to elevate ordinary moments and also provide handy, guilt-free snack options rather than having everyone scrounging in the pantry.
You’re definitely not limited to the typical meat and cheese when creating a snack board.
For this particular tropical charcuterie, my goal was to recreate the vacation vibe at home with snacks, serving pieces and accessories you might find at the beach or an island destination.
If you’re planning a summer staycation at home or a family backyard beach party, you definitely want to add this to the festivities. Serve it on the porch, patio or poolside or pair it with a beachy film for the next family movie night.
When building a snack board, I first start out by pulling out my board, snacks and serving dishes,
How to Create a Tropical Charcuterie Board
For this snack charcuterie, I used a pineapple-shaped cutting board, a vintage pineapple-shaped bowl, some faux monstera leaves, a small wooden bowl and a yellow berry basket. I start out with an initial arrangement, knowing that things may change as I add the food to the board and play around with the presentation.
I knew I wanted to include fresh and dried fruit and other snacks with simple ingredients, like Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP®, nuts and some coconut-chocolate candy. Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP® Sea Salt Popcorn and Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn were perfect for this board.
In addition to being delicious and packed with whole grain goodness, the sea salt and kettle corn flavors work well with the tropical theme.
I created my shopping list for this snack board online and then added everything to my Whole Foods Market grocery delivery order.
Such an easy way to grocery shop! Find your local Whole Foods Market here.
Now let’s talk about how I built the board.
With my bowls in place, I started adding on the snacks.
I placed fresh mango and ripe strawberries in bowls to keep the juices from making the other snacks on the board soggy.
Cashews and fruit-and-nut clusters also are good choices for a tropical board.
Dried mango slices, pineapple rings, banana chips and coconut-filled chocolates are other tasty additions, too.
I filled in the remaining space on the board with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP® Sea Salt Popcorn and Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP® Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn.
Let the snacking begin!
You can fill all the empty space on the snack board with popcorn. Or you can leave some space, so you can better see the shape of your serving pieces.
The choice is yours.
But one side benefit of Ieaving some blank space on the board is that you’ll have plenty of Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP® left over for me-time snacks!
I’m taking this bowl on the patio with a beach read for a relaxing momcation at home. Don’t tell my family where I’m hiding out!
