I’m always a bit sad to take down our outdoor Halloween decorations, but it’s time to say goodbye to the skeletons and cozy things up a bit.

Fall is pretty much perfect in North Carolina, and our family loves enjoying these cooler, sun-dappled days outdoors.

When Cost Plus World Market asked me to share my favorite Thanksgiving door decorations from their fall collection, I knew I wanted to create a cozy and welcoming hangout on our front porch.

I was inspired by the vibrant autumn colors that North Carolina is known for as the leaves change. And I wanted to recreate that cozy, grateful feeling you get after a visit to the pumpkin patch or the apple orchard or when you’re cuddling under a blanket at the firepit.

A traditional white rocking chair was one of the first items I chose, because every southern front porch deserves a rocker. I can’t wait to sit outside in the waning daylight and sip a mug of hot caramel apple cider.

For the harvest-inspired Thanksgiving door decor, I used tones of copper, orange, and aqua combined with natural elements and homey touches. I typically don’t decorate with orange, but it works so well for fall and coordinates nicely with my favorite aqua and teal hues.

You can see how I pulled the entire look together at the World Market blog. Plus, you’ll be able to shop the post to bring a bit of cozy to your outdoor spaces this fall.
