This Slow Cooker Chili Cheese Dip is always the hit of the party! And it’s so easy to make! Sometimes called “white trash dip,” it’s made with just three ingredients. Just dump them all into the Crock Pot, stir and heat!
I’m kinda embarrassed to tell you the official name of this chili cheese dip.
I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about it once you hear the name.
It’s so good. Simple, but delicious.
It’s hit of every party. Even fancy folks like it.
Even though it’s called “white trash dip.”
I just served it at our Avengers superhero party. I changed the name to Iron Man Chili Cheese Dip for that shindig. (Since Iron Man is a billionaire, maybe I’ll start calling it Billion Dollar Dip going foward! If million dollar recipes are a thing on Pinterest, why not billion dollar ones?)
Sausage, tomatoes, peppers and creamy cheese — it’s great on any chip you want to dip — tortillas, Doritos, Fritos, your bare fingers. (OK, we might be getting into trashy territory with that last serving suggestion.)
I think the recipe earned it’s not-so-nice name because you basically just dump a bunch of good stuff into a slow cooker and leave it alone.
How to Make Chili Cheese Dip
Start out by browning a pound of hot Italian sausage. (You can use mild or sweet sausage if you prefer a milder taste.)
Drain the sausage and add it to your slow cooker, along with two blocks of softened cream cheese and two cans of tomatoes and green chiles. (I usually use one can of spicy and one can of mild Ro-Tel, but you can adjust the heat according to your preference.)
Give everything a good stir, then cover. Heat in the slow cooker, on high for an hour, until everything is melted.
Reduce the heat to low and serve with your favorite chips.
Whether you want to call it white trash dip, million dollar dip or chili cheese dip, here’s the mouth-watering recipe:

oh I need to go make this right now! Wow that looks so good! I would have to tone it down some with mild sausage though 🙂

You can definitely adjust the spiciness of this recipe by using mild sausage and mild Ro-Tel.
