Every fall, my favorite local bakery offers a limited edition pumpkin pie milkshake. But like the crisp cool days of fall and gorgeous autumn leaves, it is gone too soon.
For 11 months out of the year, all I have are sweet memories!
Ah, but not anymore! I’ve come up with a make-at-home easy pumpkin pie milkshake that hits the sweet spot every time! #ThankfullySweet
This would be the perfect dessert to serve for Thanksgiving. It’s different, but the flavors are familiar. So foodies and dessert traditionalists will be satisifed!
Better still, save a few slices of pumpkin pie from Thanksgiving and whip up a batch of these milkshakes to serve with your turkey leftovers!
Yep, that’s right. The secret ingredient in this milkshake is a slice of REAL pumpkin pie, deconstructed! A can of pumpkin won’t give you the same decadently sweet result!
But don’t think you have to make a pumpkin pie from scratch for this recipe.
I popped in to Walmart and picked up a Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pie and some Cool Whip topping, plus some premium vanilla ice cream, to make these shakes.
Go ahead and bake the pie, according to the package directions, but save at least two slices for your milkshakes.
As you can imagine from the ingredients, these easy pumpkin pie milkshakes are pretty rich.
The recipe yields two big milkshakes, or you can serve them as mini desserts in shot glasses.
