Use cake stands to elevate your entertaining and to take your decorating to new heights.
I am a sucker for a cake stand. Add a pedestal to a plate, and I just can’t resist.
I counted the other day, and I own at least a dozen.
Big, small, tall, short, fancy, casual, rustic, refined…
I love putting food, like this blueberry lemon cheeseecake, on a pedestal.
Cake stands can really elevate your entertaining, and your decorating, too.

I’ve curated a collection of my favorite cake stands, all of which are available for purchase online.
This collection includes inexpensive stands that are perfect for casual parties and splurge-worthy ones that are sure to become family keepsakes. Prices start as low as $15.
Can you say gorgeous? This galvanized and wood stand is so versatile.
I’m a sucker for a cake pedestal with a cloche. I love this twig version for fall or for outdoor parties. It’s definitely a splurge, but the detailing is amazing.
I think Kate Spade has the right idea. Eat cake for breakfast! (Guilty!)
Don’t you just love the patina of this French-inspired pedestal?
A graceful life is blessed. Wise words on this cake pedestal from Dayspring.
You’ll find more photos and links to purchase other cake stands at the end of this post.
I own many of the stands in this collection — or similar versions of them, like this vintage-style jade milk glass pedestal that I used for my Easter decorating.
Come to think of it, I also used it at Christmas as part of my holiday display in the dining room.
The rest of the cake stands in this collection are on my wishlist because I don’t think you can own too many!
Whenever I throw parties, like this champagne and cinema bash or my pink-and-green luncheon, I usually use cake plates and cake pedestals to provide height to my tablescapes and buffets.
And while cake plates are made for serving, don’t discount their decorating value.
Heck, I even use footed stands in the bathroom to hold my homemade bath bombs.

Very cool! I only own one cake stand, and it was inherited from my Grandmother-in-law. I do love it, but it’s heavy glass and hard to manage. I need a lightweight, versatile one for ideas like yours! 🙂

This is the best collection EVER. Since seriously, I have never met a cake stand I don’t like. I just wish they were easier to store.. that is the only thing preventing me from growing my collection! <3

I know what you mean, Kim! I have cake stands stacked on top of each other, upside down, however I can make them fit, in my china cabinet and buffet and lots of other places in the house. The ones with lids are REALLY hard to store! Maybe I need a cake stand room. I’ve heard of bloggers with dish closets…
