I haven’t tuned in to a holiday movie or started listening to carols just yet, but I have started my Christmas decorating. I’m already covered with glitter and I’m downright giddy about it because it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. I usually start my Christmas decorating in our foyer so guests get a festive welcome to our home.
This year, I decided on a winter wonderland theme, using snowy white Christmas decorations with just a few pops of aqua to play off the color of the handpainted buffet.
I found everything I needed for my wintry scene (and then some) at my local At Home store.
At Home is a one-stop for Christmas décor items for every room of the house., with products in 15 decorative themes that make it easy to coordinate your look across rooms. (Or if you’re like me, you may find that many of At Home’s Christmas themes appeal to you.)
That’s OK, too. It’s perfectly fine to mix and match. Stay tuned for future posts about how I’m using these At Home Christmas decorations throughout my house, inside and out. I found so many beautiful, affordably priced items that I couldn’t resist filling up my cart. Thanks to At Home’s everyday low prices, I didn’t have to wait for a coupon or sale to buy what I needed to deck my halls.
At Home also offers 101 Varieties of artificial Christmas Trees.
The Tree for Me lot covers an acre in the store, and you’ll find any size, shape, color tree you could imagine. Do you see that pink ombre tree on the right, above? I’m really crushing on it!
For my entryway, I actually confined myself to one theme: Snowcapped Scene. I fell in love with the woodland creatures and the sparkle.
I picked up a pair of reindeer, a large 15-inch standing deer…
And a smaller version, as well.
I decorated the branches of my silver tree with these white bird glitter and feather ornaments and some mercury glass eggs I already owned.
I also used these beaded white poinsettia cluster ornaments on a few of the branches because I thought they looked like snowflakes. (The poinsettias come clustered in sets of three, but I used wire snips to separate them and space them out on my tree.)
I added fake snow, an LED Christmas tree candle and a snowy fox ornament from At Home to the terrarium I keep on the buffet year round.
I also picked up some glittered birch branches and a glittered spray with snowballs to add to my snowy scene.
And for one of my favorite seasonal decorating tricks, I added a glittery wreath to my lampshade. Doesn’t this cypress ring look like ice-coated branches?
I’m liking the looks of Christmas so far.
What part of your house do you decorate first for Christmas? Which At Home Christmas Decor theme is your favorite for that space?
