Stressed about cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year? I’ve got a solution that will keep you out of the kitchen and give you more time to spend with family. Check out my tips for a delicious and easy Thanksgiving dinner and tablescape.
An easy Thanksgiving dinner? Does such a thing even exist?
If you’ve ever hosted a big holiday dinner, you know there’s a ton of work involved. You have to shop for the ingredients, clean the house for company, prepare a bunch of sides and desserts, set the table, and thaw and prep the bird before getting up at the crack of dawn on Thanksgiving to put it in the oven. And then there’s the cleaning up afterwards. No wonder everybody wants a nap after Thanksgiving dinner!
But there is a better way — and you still get to enjoy your favorite Thanksgiving foods with just a fraction of the work.
Our family recently tried out Boston Market’s Whole Roasted Turkey Meal for 12, which was shipped directly to our home, ready to thaw and heat. We may have a new Thanksgiving tradition!
If you’re looking for an easy Thanksgiving dinner that tastes homemade, this is a wonderful option. The meal includes a fully-cooked whole roasted turkey, spinach artichoke dip and crackers to serve as an appetizer, mashed potatoes and gravy, home style stuffing, cranberry walnut relish, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and apple pie. (The photo above shows only half the sides we received!)
The meal for 12 costs $119.99; just be sure to order before Nov. 18 for home delivery. It’s just one of the Boston Market Complete Thanksgiving Meals available to simplify your holiday celebrations.
In setting our easy Thanksgiving dinner table, I decided to run with the whole simple theme, but without sacrificing style. Rather than using china that we’d have to hand wash afterwards, We ate our turkey dinner off pretty paper plates.
And I used the foundation I’d set for my Halloween to create the Thanksgiving tablescape. I didn’t really change the centerpiece much at all. I swapped out a few candles, replaced the spooky decorations with pumpkins and Thanksgiving serving dishes. It was an easy swap!
Cooking our Thanksgiving dinner was just as easy.
The Boston Market Thanksgiving Home Delivery comes with complete instructions for preparing the meal. The sides can be heated in the oven or microwave, as well as the stovetop, in some cases.
The fully-cooked turkey goes in the oven first, followed by mashed potatoes and stuffing. Everything is ready in 2 to 3 hours, less if the turkey is fully thawed before cooking.
I decided to heat the gravy on the stovetop. I used the microwave for the spinach and artichoke dip, which we enjoyed as an appetizer while the rest of our meal heated.
You don’t have to tell your friends and family that you didn’t make all this delicious food from scratch.
Just transfer it to pretty serving dishes so they don’t know Boston Market did the cooking for you.
I’m not saying that’s what I did.
Actually, I fessed up to my family, but you don’t have to.
I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have believed I cooked a turkey that perfectly browned and moist.
Everything smelled so good while it was cooking!
We were all ready to dig in when the food finished heating!
I’m getting hungry just looking at these photos! How about you?
I hope you saved room for dessert!
