2 TBS brown mustard
powder
2 TBS ice water
½ tsp. rice vinegar

Make sure you use a Chinese mustard powder or Colman's English mustard powder.
These powders include HOT brown mustard seeds.

Add hot brown mustard powder to a small bowl.

Add ice cold water to the mustard powder.
The water temperature matters!

Stir well to form a paste of the water and mustard powder.

Add ½ teaspoon of unseasoned rice vinegar or rice wine vinegar. Stir well.
