Pork Fried Wontons

The Best Party Appetizer Better Than Takeout

"

These pork fried wontons are the best party food ever! Even better than takeout! Each fried wonton is filled with a juicy bite of pork and green onions, accented with soy and sesame flavors.

The recipe makes 50 fried wontons, but I always recommend doubling or tripling it. These never last long at a party!

Ingredients ½ lb. ground pork 1 TBS green onions 1 egg  1 tsp. salt 1 TBS soy sauce 1 TBS sugar 1 tsp. sesame oil 1 TBS water 1 pack wonton skins 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Cook's Tip For more flavorful fried wontons, use ground breakfast sausage instead of ground pork.

Prepare the filling

Combine ground pork or sausage, egg, green onions, salt, sugar, soy sauce, water and sesame oil. Use a spoon or your hands to mix thoroughly.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or dutch oven over medium-high heat. When oil is hot, add wontons in batches.

Fry the wontons

Fry in batches in until golden brown. Remove wontons from oil drain on paper towels.

Scribbled Underline

Serve fried wontons with a dipping sauce made from equal parts mustard and honey, plus soy sauce to taste.

Pork wontons can also be made in an air fryer.

Air fryer wontons cook in just 10 minutes, and they come out crispy and delicious.

There’s no difference in taste between the air fried and deep fried wontons. The air fryer wontons don’t puff up as much in the center so they are a bit crispier.
