Sweet & Spicy Homemade Pepper Jelly

Homemade Pepper Jelly is quick and easy to make. It's a great condiment or topping for vegetables and meat. Serve it over cream cheese for an easy appetizer.

  • ¼ cup chopped hot peppers
  • cups chopped sweet peppers
  • cups sugar
  • cups vinegar
  • 1 3- ounce pack liquid pectin


  1. Grind the peppers in the food processor. You may want to wear a mask to avoid breathing in fumes.
  2. Combine ground peppers, vinegar and sugar and bring to a brisk boil. Boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Add pectin and boil for an additional minute.
  4. Remove from heat and set for 5 minutes.
  5. Ladle into hot, sterilized jars and seal to fingertip tight.

  6.  Process for 10 minutes in a boiling water canner. Remove jars and cool, checking to make sure they're sealed after 24 hours.
