  • 1 refrigerated pie crust dough
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon

  1. Allow the pie crust to sit out at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes, then unroll.
  2. Use cookie cutters to cut out heart shapes from the pie dough. Set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Melt 1 stick of butter and pour into a shallow bowl.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon and stir until well mixed.
  6. Dip each pie crust into melted butter, shaking off excess.
  7. Sprinkle each side of the heart liberally with cinnamon sugar. Shake off the excess and place on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Pierce each pastry heart a few times with a fork.
  9. Bake for 5 minutes, then flip the hearts over and bake for 3 minutes more until dough is golden and flaky, but not burned.
  10. Cooking times may vary, depending on your oven. Watch the pastries carefully to make sure they do not brown too much.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  12. Serve with whipped cream and jam.
