Clever things to do with pumpkins after Halloween rather than throwing them in the trash!
Chances are, you have one of these.
Or maybe lots of these.
And come next Thursday, the pumpkin’s season will be past. Replaced by tinsel, greenery, glitter and twinkling lights.
Wondering what to do with your pumpkins after Halloween?
- Well, you could compost them or plant them in your garden. Or make tasty pumpkin butter. Or oory gooey pumpkin crunch.
- Cut them up and roast the pumpkin seeds.
- Dry the seeds and plant them in the garden next year.
- Do a fun science experiment with your kids.
- Preserve the pumpkin to use in next year’s decor.
- Save the stems, dry them and use them to make fun crafts, like this bird feeder or velvet pumpkins or no-sew shirt pumpkins or sweater pumpkins.
- Oh, there are so many ways to use pumpkins after Halloween.
But none as fun as this one. Guaranteed.

Hours of fun, I tell you.

And actually, you can compost your hammered pumpkin after the kids are done with it. Just be sure to remove the golf tees.
