I stole this idea from my neighbor’s front porch – with permission!
A few years ago, our neighbor Natalie and her mom decorated a pumpkin to look like a pizza for a contest at her school. It was the cutest thing! It’s one of the most creative no-carve Halloween pumpkin ideas I’ve seen.
I snapped an inspiration photo of their real-life pizza pumpkin, and this year I finally made my own.

While Natalie and her mom used a real pumpkin with the stem removed, I opted to decorate a foam pumpkin so it will last for many years.
Special thanks to Natalie for telling me exactly how she decorated her pumpkin so I could share it with you.
Supplies
- Flat faux pumpkin
- Red craft paint
- White craft paint
- Red foam sheet
- Green foam sheet
- White yarn
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Paintbrushes
- Pizza box
Instructions
Paint the top half of the pumpkin with two coats of red craft paint.
While the paint is drying, use a small cup or jar to trace circles onto the red foam. (I traced around a roll of washi tape.) Cut out the circles.
Dip the pointy end of a paintbrush into white craft paint and stamp random dots onto the red foam circles to make pepperoni.
Cut out small triangle-shaped “peppers” from the green foam. (You could also use felt.)
Cut the yarn into short pieces. Glue the yarn “cheese” onto the top of the pumpkin pizza, using craft glue that dries clear.
Next, add the foam “pepperoni” and “green pepper” pieces, adding more “cheese,” if necessary.
You can create other toppings for the pizza using different shapes and colors of foam.
There you have it — a pepperoni and pepper pizza pumpkin, hot out of the oven!
How cute is that?
Displaying Your Pizza Pumpkin
I popped into the local pizzeria and asked for a box to display my no-carve pizza pumpkin. They were happy to give me an extra with my takeout order.
I just love this idea, and I hope you do, too.
