Sometimes you just need a pop of color.
I picked up this folding side table at a yard sale for $5. Pretty good price for outdoor patio furniture, even secondhand.
And I’m sure some wood purist is going to cringe and ask, “How could you paint over that natural wood?”
And I’ve got an answer. Several, actually. And they’re sassy.
I just dipped my brush in the can and started painting.
Because it’s mine to makeover as I please.
The world needs more color. And my patio definitely did!

I’ve been in a navy and turquoise mood for a while now. I used the combo in our coastal-style guest bedroom, and now outside.
I can’t wait to share our finished patio and pergola with you soon. We have just a few more touches to add, but we’ve been enjoying it a lot this spring. For now, you’ll have to settle for a few sneak peeks, but I’ll show you the entire space soon enough.
Out outdoor patio furniture is all-weather wicker from Home Depot, and it came with slate blue cushions. The furniture provides a great neutral backdrop for brighter, more colorful accents and accessories.
Like these tile patterned outdoor pillows from World Market.
And a sizzling side table, that went from blah brown to hot turquoise.
I used DecoArt American Decor Outdoor Living Paint in Turquoise for the transformation. It’s a no-prep paint that is formulated for outdoors and requires no top coat.
So two coats of paint, and this makeover was done.
When it’s time to give furniture or a room a makeover, I often seem to default to the same color family.
I can’t get enough of turquoise and aqua, as you’ll see from the projects below.

I completely agree with you Amy -the world needs a little more color! And your choice of blue for that table makeover is perfect!! I not a blue color person, per se, but I too have been loving the color lately. I think your table makeover is more beautiful as the blue and not the drab wood. Excellent choice!!

I love the table makover and the color! So beautiful and perfect for summer. I have a table just like that, and it’s been collecting dust in my garage for 2 years. You’ve inspired me to redo it for the patio. Thanks for sharing at Oh My Heartsie Girls Wonderful Wednesday’s! #OMHGWW

I love the color you chose…it’s beautiful! I’m going to have to go back and read some of your other posts since I’m about to update a side table and I’ve never done anything with furniture in my life besides sit on it and put things on it…LOL! Thanks so much for joining us at Share The Wealth Sunday! xoxo

Love that pop of color! The paint will help protect it from the elements, too! We had a table just like that, and I know it would have lasted longer if we had painted it. And I agree–the world needs more color!

I love the makeover. It gives your deck a pop of color and a little inspiration for me to paint my Adirondack chairs. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best Linkup.
