Turn back now before it’s too late…
You’ve been warned…
Our last guests didn’t fare so well.
We so rarely have guests, and when we do, they never return.
Such a shame, too, as the house is all decorated for the All Things Home Halloween Showcase, where 15 bloggers are sharing their Halloween decorating ideas, recipes, crafts and general mayhem and mischief.
Welcome to our Halloween Hotel of Horror. (Can you tell I’ve had “Hotel California” running through my head all week?)
The table is all set for a feast.
Having you for to dinner will be a real treat…
Please take a seat…
Anywhere you like.
Well, maybe not there.
And the ghosts and poltergeists can get a little upset if someone takes their spot.
I hope you like (blood) red wine. It’s the only thing we drink here!
And I do hope you like organ meats.
If not, perhaps you would prefer something under glass. It’s cook’s speciality.
We don’t have pheasant under glass, but we have some other nice selections.
Come now, let’s return to the table.
It’s getting late, and the candles are melting away.
You wouldn’t like it when it gets dark here.
Our last guest didn’t survive the fright.
May he rest in peace.
Poor man. Those roses are souvenirs keepsakes from his grave.
I hope we did not tarry too long at dinner, dear visitor.
I’d like to show you around the rest of our home.
Do you like to read, dear guest?
The classics, perhaps?
Or maybe Edgar Allan Poe?
I do enjoy his stories. But the man was quite mad. And I did not like how he disparaged the raven. Nevermore, Mr. Poe. Nevermore!
I keep a few ravens myself. Crows, too. They make wonderful pets.
I enjoy all of God’s creatures.
Brr. Did you feel a chill?
It felt like someone was walking across my grave.
Strange things happen in this house.
Sometimes I feel as if someone is trying to send me a message.
But I am sure it’s just my imagination.
Before you leave, there’s someone I want you to meet.
My progeny.
We’ll find him outside…
Tending to his bats…
…in his Playhouse of Horrors.
He’s so good with the bats.
And yes, they are vampire bats. But they only bite at night.
My boy is such an angel, as you can see.
But I do wish he would keep his lair clean.
We have a little bit of a rat problem.
The zombies are bad here, too.
But we’ve devised a way to keep them out…
…for now.
I have kept you for far too long. Though, if I had my way, you would never leave.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
I must let you go to visit the other All Things Home Halloween Showcase bloggers.

KATHYSUE
AMAZING AMY!! Great job, scary, but very tastefully done. How fun for your family to see and enjoy!1
Kathysue
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Kathysue. We had a blast decorating for Halloween as a family.
My son actually has some more kid-friendly Halloween decor in his room, and we had to act out an entire mad scientist scene over the weekend. I was the crazy Frankenstein creature locked in the closet, and my husband was the doomed traveler!
Clearly, we have created a monster.
Yvonne @ StoneGable
Amy, you are over-the-top with this frightful tour! Oh my I don’t know if I can make it for dinner… I’m a little under the weather (or under the covers…. hiding)!
Every scary detail so ghoulishly done!
You are the queen of Halloween!
Atta Girl Amy
Ha! You can’t get out of my dinner invitation that easily. I’ll make some tasty soup to make you feel better. But can I borrow some eye of newt?
Tammy...circa-1929
Amy, I love it all. You really did do an awesome job. I can tell you love Halloween. A kindred spirit for sure..And your Jackson did a great job with his lair too.
Happy Halloween.
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Tammy. I can’t wait to see your tour. I was blown away by your Halloween decor last year.
When you move back to NC, we must head to Chapel Hill on Halloween! Some of the best costume inspiration ever.
Marty@A Stroll Thru Life
Everything is just the cutest. I love it all. You did a fantastic job with halloween. Hugs, marty
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Marty. I had a blast decorating for Halloween.
Angie
Wow. It all looks so amazing! I really love the “help us” and everything on the buffet in the dining room. Thanks for all the fabulous inspiration!
Atta Girl Amy
Aww, thanks, Angie. I had fun coming up with all those little details. And clearly, I watch too many scary shows and movies and have read too much Stephen King.
Therese @ Fresh Idea Studio
Amy, you rock the Halloween thing! I love every little bit! And, I really want to come over and dine at your terrifying table. It’s eerily Beautiful!
Happy Haunting!
Atta Girl Amy
It all started with those little ram plates. I found them for $2 at my favorite local shop and knew I had to have them for my Halloween decorating. I’m hoping to do a blog post on that store soon; she has some amazing vintage Halloween decor. i’ve bought a lot of my props from her.
Courtenay
You’re the master of spooky! Wow!
Atta Girl Amy
That’s high praise coming from you. I really loved your Halloween home tour, too. So festive and spooky.
Lori @Vintage Charm Restored
Girl I absolutely love EVERYthing!!! I want to come to the Hotel of AttaGirl!!
Atta Girl Amy
Girl, I would put you to work in that dungeon I call a garage. There’s some furniture that needs painting there!
Jennifer @ Town and Country Living
Amazing attention to detail and love your black and white theme, which looks great with your blue buffet. Love the “Help Us” letters! Just love all of this!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Jennifer. I’ve learned from folks like you and Barb and my other favorite bloggers that decorating really is all about the details.
Marty Walden
Oh.my.word. Did you leave any decorations for the rest of the shoppers at Michael’s and Dollar Tree? Your tour is utterly amazing. Perfectly accessorized as always. Great job my friend!
Atta Girl Amy
Thank you, Marty. And I really didn’t buy much this year. I have bins and bins of Halloween stuff, and the rest is from my regular “stash” of decor. I don’t have quite as many Halloween bins as Christmas ones in the attic, but it’s close.
Leslie Stewart @ House on the Way
Okay…I’ve gotta say…that was a little freaky! But I loved it! Halloween is so awesome. Great tour!
Leslie
Atta Girl Amy
I stopped myself before I painted my fingernails black and dyed my hair black, like Morticia Adams. Glad you enjoyed the tour. I had a blast decorating for Halloween.
Linda @ it all started with paint
Love it all — especially the play house of horrors!!!! Maybe I should include my teen daughter’s room of horrors in my tour! Hahahaha!
🙂 Linda
Atta Girl Amy
Now, that would really be scary, Linda. If your daughter’s room looks anything like mine did when I was a teenager, then people are going to run screaming in horror.
Shirley@Housepitality Designs
The Adams family would be proud!!!..
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Shirley. I just need to invite some weird relatives to move in, and the tribute will be complete!
laura@Top This Top That
scared the crap out of me!! 🙂
Atta Girl Amy
I aim to please! Loved your spookiness, too.
debbiedoos
FUN! WOW you really go all out. My boys are older now so they don’t get their spook on much anymore. But I still love it. Everything looks great Amy!
Atta Girl Amy
So, they’re in that age where they’re too cool to like Halloween. Don’t worry, they’ll get back into it soon enough. I just hope they don’t drag you to haunted houses. As much as I like Halloween, I really don’t like going to haunted houses. 🙂
Suzy @ Worthing Court
Wow, Amy! You did such an awesome job! I don’t believe that I’ll be coming to dinner though. 😉 Great idea to Halloweenify Jackson’s playhouse too.
Atta Girl Amy
I can’t believe you’re passing on my dinner invitation.
But if there’s a zombie apocalypse, you’re welcome to come bunk up with us at Jackson’s Playhouse of Horror.
And speaking of zombies, I cannot wait for The Walking Dead to return on Sunday. Thanks for getting me hooked. Who do you think it is that keeps saying, “Help me” in the commercials?
Suzy @ Worthing Court
I’m so ready for it that I’ve been watching the Walking Dead rerun marathon! And I want to know who is saying that too!
Lorraine@MissFlibbertigibbet
Looks great! The playhouse and the boy vampire are the scariest!!! you can tell him that….he’ll love it! LOL
Atta Girl Amy
He will! He had a blast posing for those photos. And trust me, the posing was all his doing. He went all Ozzy Osbourne on me!
Christy @ Our Southern Home
Girl, you just scared the mess out of me! Amazingly spooky decorating!!! Love!! ~Christy
Atta Girl Amy
Thank you, lady. And I hope your heart has stopped racing from that scare.
Sonya ~At Home with The Barkers
I’ve never done scary, probably because I’m a creeped out too much BUT you did a great job! I love that is all black and white, with a dash of blood, I mean red. ~Sonya
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Sonya. I’ve always wanted to do black-and-white decor, and I figured what better time than Halloween!
kirby carespodi
Love it!–so much fun–exactly the type of thing I used to do when my kids were young. We had such fun at Halloween.
Atta Girl Amy
You are the coolest. I bet your kids loved Halloween.
It’s the one time of the year when I can get Bruce & Jackson on board with decorating with me. They cooperate, grudgingly, at other times. But at Halloween, they actually enjoy that I’m a crazy decorating lady.
