This is such an adorable Easter basket craft! These tissue paper carrots hide a tasty surprise inside. Fill them with miniature chocolate eggs, jelly beans, M&M’s or another favorite Easter candy.
You know what they say: “Don’t put only eggs in your Easter basket!”

And you want to know the best part? Besides how scandalously easy they are to make?
These “carrots” have a hidden sweet treat inside. You can fill them with any small candies you like, such as jelly beans, mini chocolate eggs or M&M’s. That makes them a perfect Easter basket craft.

Supplies
- Orange tissue paper
- Green tissue paper
- Tape
- Scissors
- Twine or ribbon
- Small candies
Instructions
Fold a single sheet of orange tissue paper in half and then in half again to form a rectangle.
Measure the short size of the rectangle, and cut a green piece of tissue paper to the same length. It should be about 5 inches in width. Fold the green tissue paper in half, lengthwise, and tape the folded side to the shorter edge of the orange rectangle, overlapping about ½ inch. Make sure that the orange tissue paper is on top of the green paper before taping.
With your hand holding the green end, roll the tissue paper into a cone shape, forming a point at the end. Making note of where the point of the cone is, unroll the paper and cut into a triangle.
Making note of where the point of the cone is, unroll the paper and cut into a triangle.
Fold the point of the triangle up, tape and roll the tissue paper into a cone shape again, securing with tape.
Fill the tissue paper cone with jelly beans, M&M’s, miniature chocolate eggs or other candy surprises and secure with a piece of twine. I recommend a double knot.
To finish, trim the green tissue paper to create a straight edge across the top of the carrot. Then, cut vertical slits into the green tissue paper to create the leafy tops of the carrots.
Kids will love tearing into these tissue paper carrots to get to the tasty treats inside!
While they’re super cute in an Easter basket, I also think they would be good party favors or place cards on your Easter table.
And remember, carrots come in all sorts of colors, so don’t feel like you have to limit yourself to just using orange tissue paper. Buy a rainbow pack of paper and make a bunch of red, yellow and purple carrots, too.
