My inner witch has come back for a visit. And she’s been busy whipping up some spooky DIY Halloween decorations for the front porch.
Are you brave enough to take the tour?
I’m thrilled to be joining up with a group of creative bloggers today to show off our spooky front porch. If you’re looking for decorating inspiration and ideas for DIY Halloween decorations, be sure to visit all the bloggers on the tour through the links at the end of this post.
At our house, we’ve created an (un)welcoming scene for trick-or-treaters with lots of skeletons, spiders, bats and other creepy crawlies.
Heck, even the pumpkins are scary!
In the five years we’ve lived in this house, I’ve collected many spooky items. It’s fun to reimagine them every year to create new DIY Halloween decorations.
This year, we draped inexpensive creepy cloth from the dollar store over the door and added spiderweb lights and some flying bat and bird skeletons.
I gave my ‘Til Death Do Us Part wreath a makeover, swapping out the glittery skeletons and leaves for black flowers, spiders and bats.
This year, I decided to go for a high contrast, black-and-white color scheme for Halloween, with just a few pops of color, mostly orange.
Bats, rats, skeletons, black flies, crows, spiders and other spooky are lurking everywhere.
On tops of skulls…
On the rocker…
Atop lanterns…
Inside crystal balls…
Climbing the walls.
The creep factor is high! (Of course, if that was a real spider, I’d probably scream and burn the house down.)
Have you met Mr. Bones and his cat?
They’ve been hanging out for an eternity, waiting for Oct. 31 to roll around again.
Be careful!
That’s one demon cat!
The black buffet I painted for the porch always looks good at Halloween.
It’s the perfect focal point for this end of the porch.
And it’s perfect for ghastly and ghoulish displays, like this DIY crystal ball. (Find out how to make one here.)
I just love how the orange pumpkins and “pumpkin tree” eggplants pop against the black paint.
Mr. Bones, demon cat, the witch and I are glad you stopped by. For more great DIY Halloween decorations and crafts, check out these Halloween posts:

Last year, we even had some trick-or-treaters take photos on our porch! And those rats are pretty creepy. One of them actually has a sensor and makes noise when people walk by. It’s definitely scary.
