Tour this gorgeous traditional dining room decorated with a golden toile-inspired tree and a simple Christmas tablescape set with crystal, fine china and silverware.
Ever since we hung wallpaper in our dining room, I’ve been dreaming of decorating this space for Christmas.
Today I’m joining with 19 friends for the annual Christmas Ideas Tour, organized by Angie at Postcards from the Ridge. I’m sharing my gold-and-toile inspired Christmas tablescape and dining room decor.
But you’ll find all sorts of inspiration on the virtual tour — Christmas mantels, porches and decks, tablescapes, handmade gifts and gift wrap ideas. Make sure you scroll to the end of this post and all the other participants.
I’ll be sharing more of our 2019 Christmas Home Tour over the next week. So make sure you visit again to how we decked the halls this year. Until then, use the links below to view our past Christmas Tours to see how our style and home has evolved:

That wallpaper, which I love so much, inspired the color scheme and ornaments I used on the tree, as well as the elegant, formal Christmas tablescape.
While each place setting is elegant, I opted to keep things relatively simple at each seat since I used an oversized centerpiece.
I topped some scalloped gold chargers with our wedding china and some colorful accent plates, and I used our wedding crystal and family silver at each place setting.
To reference the chinoiserie vibe of the wallpaper, I used golden pagoda and boxwood topiary napkin rings. (The napkin rings were a find at a local home decor shop.)
The centerpiece features a champagne garland topped with large glass ornaments in an oversized gold bowl.
Glittery picks and icy blue berries pick up the color from the wallpaper and the glow from my gold Christmas tree.
The tree is decorated with curled gold-flecked blue ribbon; gold and champagne magnolia, poinsettia and amaryllis blossoms; birds’s nests; butterflies; and aqua glass ornaments.
The same motifs can be found in the chinoiserie toile wallpaper.
I can’t wait to invite people over for a holiday meal in our pretty dining room.

Amy your Christmas tablescape is so opulent. Such an elegant table for a wonderful Christmas meal. I’m sure I must have seen a gold tree before but maybe not. Your looks so beautiful with the table and that wallpaper, gorgeous!!
Atta Girl Amy
I was obsessed with finding an affordable gold tree last year after seeing one in a store. I love our, and it’s perfect for our dining room.

It took me a while to finally commit to wallpaper, Kim. But once it was up, I was so happy with it and I wish I’d done it sooner. Good luck on your wallpaper journey. You won’t regret it.

Your Christmas table looks lovely, Amy! I’m a huge fan of your new wallpaper and your dining room decor complements it perfectly. Your table centerpiece is so pretty and low enough not to block conversation. Love your china and crystal, family silver, and your new napkin ring holders. I look forward to seeing more of your holiday decor this Christmas season.
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks so much, Paula. We actually had dinner in the dining room tonight (because I had the kitchen table set to photograph tomorrow.) It was fun to get all fancy, and I can’t wait to host family here on Christmas for another meal with all the fancy trappings.
