If you’ve ever had a live Christmas tree, then you know it can be difficult to know when to water. It usually involves squatting, or laying belly down on the floor, so you can dip your hand into the tree stand to check the water level.
This little guy, the Evergreen Elf, is going to be your new best friend.
Just attach him to your tree stand and extend the probe into the water. If the tree has enough water, the light on his belly flashes green. But when you need to water, the light turns red and Evergreen Elf alerts you with an audio signal. As you know, dry Christmas trees are a potential fire hazard. Every year Christmas tree fires cause millions in property damage, plus injuries
So smart and cute, right?
Evergreen Elf works with all tree stands on the market, and he also worked on my ice cream churn turned tree bucket. (We have another metal bucket elevated inside the wooden one that we fill with water.
More Christmas Gadgets
Read on for more of my Christmas gadget recommendations.
I love a prelit Christmas tree, but those promises that the lights will stay “always lit” even when one burns out? Lies!
Light Keeper Pro
This tree has some bad lights, but we were able to use the Light Keeper Pro to fix them.
While I highly recommend the Light Keeper, if you want to do things old school and replace each burned out bulb, make the job easier with a light tester.
Battery Operated Clip Lights
Add the look of candlelight to your Christmas tree with these battery-operated flameless LED candle clip lights, controlled with a remote.
Lighted Foot Switch
Speaking of Christmas lights, you need a lighted foot switch to turn them on and off. My family teases me because I call them “light step-on thingies.”
Smart Plugs
Or go really high-tech and get smart plugs that you can control with your Alexa device.
It’s really fun to say, “Alexa, turn on the Christmas lights” and watch then come on automatically, indoors and out. You can get smart plugs for outdoor lights, too. We use one on our porch.
Light Timers
For outdoor lights that might be more exposed to the elements, you may be better off using a light timer.
This waterproof option has six grounded outlets on a stake. This 3-outlet outdoor timer has a light sensor and is mean to be used for hanging lights.
Fun Gadgets for Kids
Here’s another option that kids would love. A magic wand Christmas tree remote. Lumos!
Change the way your Christmas lights look with 3D holographic glasses. We have some of these and love looking at our Christmas lights through them.
You’ll be the hit of the neighborhood if you make everybody’s dreams of a white Christmas come true. You just need a snow machine.
You would definitely the prize for most festive house in the neighborhood, for sure!
Projectors
Skip stringing lights altogether and use a Christmas lights projector to put on a festive show outdoors.
Jillene Petersen
What a cute lil elf and a great idea to prevent dry trees. I love all your decor too!
