These beautiful Christmas trees will inspire you to look at your evergreen and ornaments in a new way!
I love unpacking our Christmas ornaments every year and reconnecting with the memories that each one represents. It’s also fun to see all the new ornaments I bought at after-Christmas sales.
I have been collecting ornaments since before we got married, and my tastes tend to glass and glitter — with lots of pink, aqua, silver, and gold in the mix.
Today, I’m thrilled to be joining 12 other bloggers as we share the stories behind our beautiful Christmas trees.
Whether your style is farmhouse or traditional, you’re sure to find a tree in this collection that will take your breath away. There’s something for everyone — whether you prefer a themed designer tree, branches loaded with handmade ornaments, or a tree filled with sentimental ornaments.
This year, we put up four beautiful Christmas trees, five if you count the one on the front porch.
Make that six, counting my mini tinsel tree with vintage Shiny-Brites.
That’s a lot of Christmas decorating! And would you believe I still didn’t use all my ornaments?
Normally, I use a white tree in our dining room. But this year, we moved our old living room tree to the space and added jingle bell ribbon, pinecones, a cotton garland, burlap poinsettias and simple gold and white balls.
I love the rustic-luxe look!
My Shiny-Brite tree is all luxe, featuring my favorite vintage pink, green and aqua ornaments.
Every ornament on the tree is my favorite!
Of course, my favorite Christmas tree is always our living room tree — the one we decorate together and where we hang our most precious ornaments.
Santas, snowy owls, birds aplenty, pretty baubles, souvenirs of places we’ve visited and places we’d like to go.
Oh, and this one. The so-called Christmas bacon, named by my goofball son and husband. I kinda hate this ornament. Not because it’s ugly, but because they insist on calling it the “Christmas bacon,” when I’ve told them over and over again that it’s supposed to be ribbon candy. They’ve even made up an annoying song about it, though the lyrics change every time they sing it. And if I move the “Christmas bacon” to the back or side of the tree, one of them will move it front and center.
They’re both getting coal in their stockings this year! (Something tells me that more than any other, this will be my son’s favorite Christmas ornament when he inherits my collection. So many memories wrapped up in that one piece of Christmas bacon ribbon candy.)
From year to year, we use (mostly) the same ornaments on our living room tree.
But I like to switch things up a bit by using different floral picks, ribbons, garlands, toppers and embellishments.
This year, I topped the tree with a big gold and ivory bow and wove ribbon throughout the tree. I used more gold ornaments, as well.
Contrast that with last year’s look, featuring pink and green beaded poinsettias, beaded ribbon tape, pinecone sprays and a mirrored star topper.
I finally got a flocked tree for the master bedroom — a petite 5-foot model that I decorated with mercury glass balls, birch ribbon, fur ribbon, and snowbirds.
You can see more of that space here.
And finally, we have our blue-and-white chinoiserie Christmas tree in the keeping room, decorated to match the newly redecorated room.
I did buy a few new ornaments for the tree, including some plain blue balls…
… and these stunners.
But the rest I made using scrapbook paper and pretty mini frames.
I’ll share a tutorial soon, as well as sources for that beautiful paper.
