Taco night meets Manwich thanks to this tangy, quick and easy Chicken Taco Recipe that is ready in less than 15 minutes.
Family dinners are important to us, even on busy weeknights when homework, after-school activities, work and chores are pulling us in all different directions.
We’ve had some of our most meaningful and memorable conversations around the dinner table, just as my husband and I remember doing with our families growing up.
We also remember some of the favorite meals our moms made, week after week. Things like tacos and Manwich Sloppy Joes and Tex-Mex grilled chicken salads.
Those childhood favorites inspired this quick and easy Chicken Taco Recipe featuring Manwich sauce.
Manwich Sloppy Joes are great, and they’re still one of our favorite fast family meals.
But a can of sweet and tangy Manwich meatless sauce is a great seasoning shortcut when you’re making tacos, pasta, soups, casseroles and more. It comes in three different flavors — Original, Thick & Chunky and Bold.
I used Manwich Bold to whip up this chicken taco recipe.
I started out by adding a little olive oil to a pan and browning some ground chicken breast. (I love using ground chicken for chicken tacos because it saves me a lot of time cutting up the meat. And it’s a nice change from ground beef.)
Once the chicken was cooked through, I added a can of Manwich Bold and 1 1/2 teaspoons of cumin.
Simmer for 5 minutes over low heat, then serve on hard or soft tortilla shells.
In the spirit of Sloppy Joes, which are meant to be eaten with two hands and a napkin tucked into your collar, I like to offer a lot of different toppings. Depending on what we have in the fridge, toppings might include shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, corn, sour cream, guacamole and salsa.
Then everybody gets to load up their Manwich chicken tacos however they like.
