My son is really hoping his class doesn’t exchange Valentines this year.
Oh, the trials of third-grade boys who don’t want to give a girl the impression they might like them by giving a Valentine that says “Be Mine.” Or “You’re Cool.” Or even “Let’s Be Friends.”
And let’s not even talk about Conversation Hearts. They’re a real social minefield!
Today, I’m sharing some funny and punny boy-approved cootie catcher Valentines at Made from Pinterest that shouldn’t give any girl the wrong idea. Or tarnish any 9-year-old’s rep or cool cred.
These paper fortune tellers don’t even reference the word “Valentine” and there’s no mention of “love” or “hearts” or “kisses” or anything else that remotely romantic. Just lots and lots of mustache-related punny punchlines. You could also use these a birthday party favors since they don’t mention Valentine’s Day.
But there is a more lovey-dovey version for those of us who aren’t afraid of sharing our feelings or putting ourselves out there when it comes to love. It’s definitely not recommended for 9-year-old boys!
Be sure to head over to Made from Pinterest for the full tutorial and the free printable Valentine cards.
And if you need a lesson in how to fold a cootie catcher, be sure to check out my video tutorial from a few years ago. It will take you back to the third grade, minus the social anxiety.
