We just returned from a family vacation in Florida. It was a jam-packed week of theme park visits, family fun, sunshine, flip flops and long, lazy days by the pool.
In other words, paradise.
One of the best days of our vacation was the one we spent poolside at our rental house. No plans. No agenda. Just a full day of relaxing.
After lunch, I set up a super-simple dessert bar outside featuring EDY’s® Frozen Custard, ice cream’s creamier cousin, and some yummy toppings.
Frozen Custard, new from EDY’S®, is rich, creamy and oh-so-good right out of the carton. It is available in Old Fashioned Vanilla, the simple, sweet classic flavor everybody loves, as well as other flavors.
To make cleanup easy, we used paper cups, disposable spoons and cupcake liners to hold our toppings: blueberries, sprinkles, graham crackers crumbs and crushed cookies.
Kids love toppings!
Jackson went for Old Fashioned Vanilla, but from the looks of his face, he also sampled some of the other flavors, too.
That looks like a little Chocolate Malt on his face!
Bruce, meanwhile, stacked his waffle cone high with the Peanut Butter Pie flavor. It was close to 90 degrees that day, so it really felt like summer as you raced to finish your cone before the frozen custard dripped down your hands.
I am definitely ready for the weather at home to warm up so we can spend more time outdoors.
While we don’t have a pool, I definitely plan a repeat of this backyard party. In the hot weather, it’s all about effortless entertaining, and it really doesn’t get easier than this.
A quick trip to Walmart, and I had all I needed to create our dessert toppings bar. I’m looking forward to trying the other custard flavors: Strawberry Shortcake and Mint Cookies N’ Cream next time around.
You can sample new EDY’S® Frozen Custard during in-store demos at Walmart March 26-29. Click HERE to find a demo near year.
Be sure to follow EDY’S® on Facebook and Pinterest for more yumminess.
What flavor are you looking forward to trying?
