Some love stories are epic. Some make headlines.
Ours is quieter sort, a story of a love that grew day by day, month by month, year by year…
No headlines here. It’s just an ordinary love story of boy meets girl, boy dates girl (with a bit of a twist), boy marries girl…happily ever after.
As love stories go, it’s not particularly newsworthy, which may have you wondering why I designed our Valentine’s Day decorations around a newspaper theme.
There’s a very good reason, and I’m thrilled to be sharing it today as part of the Heart & Home blog hop, a celebration of all things romantic and lovely.
My husband and I met over the clack of typewriter keys. (Well, computer word processor keys, but manual typewriters sound so much more romantic! So, I’m editing the story just a bit.)
We met on the job while we were both working as newspaper reporters. Neither of us was expecting to find that person who would make our hearts skip a beat while covering a beat.
But sometimes that’s how love works. You find it where you never thought to look.
And in time, it flowers and blooms into something beautiful…something wonderful…something forever.
Culminating in a walk down the aisle.
But really, that’s just the beginning of the story…
It’s not the lede or the ending that are memorable, but all those paragraphs in between.
The who, what, when, where, why and how…the heartwarming anecdotes…the funny quotes…the ordinary moments…the ups and downs…the inevitable mistakes and corrections…
I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

What a beautiful vignette, but even more beautiful post. We don’t have a grand love story either, but we it’s our story, so there’s that! Found you at Chic On A Shoe String – Flaunt It Friday 🙂

Thanks, Mary Alice. It’s fun to get personal sometimes on the blog and share a little of our story. Someday, I am going to write about our first date, which included a run-in with the police — though not as scandalous or as exciting as you might think!
Pamela
