Star Wars Party Ideas: Cake
We had two birthday boys, so we had to have two cakes. One dark, one light.
One representing the Rebels…
And one representing the Empire.
As awesome as I think shaped fondant cakes are, they can be very expensive. And I also have learned that many kids don’t like the taste of fondant.
So, we went with birthday cake and chocolate cake with buttercream icing from our favorite local bakery, Maxie B’s. We originally considered doing a sheet cake with two flavors and a symbol on each side. But buying two round cakes was cheaper, and we still had plenty for our large crowd of kids and adults.
The birthday boys each got a special cupcake so they could blow out their candles without spitting on the cakes.
Can’t you tell these two best friends share more than a love of Star Wars?
Clowns!
Especially mine!
Next up, fun and games.

Where did you find the skewers for the grapes?
Atta Girl Amy
Kelli, those skewers came from Walmart. They were made by Wilton, but sadly I think they’ve discontinued them. I’ve tried to find a source for them many times since we had the party, and I’ve never been able to do so. Wilton really should start making them again.
Krystal
For the two signs you did on the gift table (Darth Jackson and Master William) do you have a cut file for Vader and Yoda image on them? If so, could I get them? We are doing Star Wars for my son and this make it so nice to cut them out for decor. Thanks You did awesome and I am using some for his birthday.
Atta Girl Amy
I’m sorry i dodnt see your comment sooner. I think I still havr these files and would happily srnd them to you.

Wow! You really went all out and I love it! We did a similar Star Wars party for my son, but did a lot more then I did!! The snack table is just AWESOME!!! Great work!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks so much, Carrie. It definitely helped that it was a joint party with his BFF. We had two families working on it. We even put the grandparents to work. And it was all worth it because the birthday boys and their friends had a blast.
Elaine
My boys would have loved a party like this when they were young! Good Job!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, it was a lot of fun. I have to admit, I think I prefer boy parties to princess parties.

Those kids are SO lucky! I especially love the Admiral Ackbar Snackbar and R2D2 cookies.
Atta Girl Amy
We certainly had a blast at the party! I think the boys and their friends all appreciated it. Definitely worth all the work we put into it.

Awesome ideas! I love that you paid SO much attention to all of the little details. Great job!
Atta Girl Amy
Thank you, Heidi. The devil is in the details, and some of them sure gave me fits, but I think all the effort was definitely worth it. The kids had a blast, especially the two birthday boys.
Cori
