Fa, la, la, la, la! My Christmas decorating is done!
And just in time, too! I’m participating in a virtual showcase of homes with 29 other bloggers this week.
We are sharing hundreds of holiday decorating ideas, so after you’ve finished touring my house, make sure you pop over to see how the other bloggers have bedecked and tinseled their homes for Christmas. (And be sure to read to the end of this post for a chance to win a $200 gift certificate to One Kings Lane, plus a Santa bag full of goodies! The grab bag includes Maison Blanche Furniture paint and wax valued at $60 from Fox Hollow Cottage; a $50 gift voucher from Woodberry Designs for the Tilda Collection crafting supplies and accessorie; a $50 gift voucher to The Shop At The Crossroads; a handmade vintage grain sack stocking from My Soulful Home, valued at $50; a collection of vintage linens valued at $50 from Kirb Appeal; and a Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint sampler valued at $60 from me.
Now, on with my tour. There are lots of photos and photo collages and a lot of details for you to take in, so I’ll keep my comments brief. (Or I’ll try. I tend to ramble.)
Let’s start at the front porch.
I kept things mostly natural and used lots of magnolia leaves and pinecones.
Just a few simple garlands.
A pair of DIY flocked trees decorated with magnolia leaves and Epsom salt ornaments.
An olive bucket stuffed with magnolia and pinecones.
These lanterns were an early Christmas gift to myself. After the holiday, I’ll take them inside and use them elsewhere. (This would be a good time to invite you to check out my home tour to see what my house looks like the rest of the year.)
My planter made from old windows holds a poinsettia.
My antique tool box is just the right color for Christmas.
Now, let’s head inside the foyer and entryway, where I always showcase my vintage pottery.
At Christmas, I bring out my collection of vintage Christmas houses and display them on my painted buffet
alongside some special ornaments.
Now here’s a space I’ve never shown you before. It’s the vestibule between the foyer and the living room.
I’ll be hosting a family Christmas get-together next weekend, and this will be the dessert table. I promise to share more photos of the table loaded with sweets, and I may share a few recipes, too.
This is the perfect time to take a detour to the dining room.
It sits right off the foyer.
The table is set for the family next weekend.
I chose traditional Christmas colors in here.
With a touch of whimsy and glitter.
Now, I want to show you the tree.
It’s the centerpiece of our living room.
This is not a designer tree. Each ornament has a memory and a story attached to it. Some are handmade, and others were bought on trips and some have been passed down. As a family, we love unwrapping each ornament and reliving the memories attached to them.
And each year we make new ones.
I think the living room has an eclectic, vintage feel. This year, I think our Christmas decor really reflects that.
I made a new garland for the staircase (with a little help from my husband and son), by tucking magnolia leaves and gilded pinecones into a shimmery faux champagne garland. Stay tuned for a tutorial on how to make a garland like mine.
I couldn’t resist adding a little touch of boxwood to the armoire doors that are camouflaging our thermostat.
A more glitzy garland tops our TV cabinet, a piece of furniture I don’t think I’ve every show you before.
There are so many other details in the living room I’d like to show you. Stay tuned all month for more posts that showcase decorating details room by room.
Here’s one more shot of our Christmas tree at night before we head into the keeping room, breakfast nook and kitchen area.
Throughout the entire downstairs of our house, each room pretty much opens into the next.
But I didn’t let that keep me from giving each room a distinct decorating personality for Christmas. Yet, it all works well together.
The theme in the keeping room is definitely cozy and inviting. A little rustic mixed with woodlands and farmhouse.
You’ll spy lots of green and red in here.
Grain sacks galore.
Plus a little plaid, ticking, toile and even an old red-and-white quilt.
I used lots of natural and vintage touches.
I may be slightly obsessed with boxwood.
And pops of red.
Amid all the natural elements, I had to include a little luxe
in the form of vintage silver and mercury glass.
Thanks so much for taking the time to tour my holiday home. I wish you could come visit for real!
If you want to stop back by, be sure to Pin the image above so you can easily find my tour.
Also, be sure you check out last year’s Christmas house tour to see how I changed things up without purchasing a lot of new decorations.
And don’t forget to visit all the other participants in the All Things Home Christmas Tour. The full schedule is below. (And after that, you’ll find the entry for the $200 One Kings Lane gift certificate and Santa’s grab bag of prizes.)

Beautiful home. You’ve done a wonderful job of capturing the Christmas glow and spirit.
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks so much. As much work as it is, I truly love decorating for Christmas for my family and friends.
kirby
Everything looks wonderful, Amy!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Kirby! Have a wonderful week.
Dria
Your home looks so cozy and inviting you did a beautiful job with decorating I LOVE your dining room!!
Atta Girl Amy
Thank you. The dining room, though it’s rarely used, is one of my favorite spots. I love all the details in the room. It’s one of the things that sold us on this house.
Kim Gaynor
I just love how you decorated your home. It’s just lovely. I love your plain, natural wreaths and your miniature houses most of all.
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Kim! With an artificial tree, I like to bring natural elements in the house in other ways. The evergreen wreaths smell wonderful, but I don’t have to worry about watering them or stringing them with lights!
Jessica @ Decor Adventures
Hi Amy,
Wow, each of your spaces is just so unique and pretty! I love the vintage ornaments and that vestibule area is beautiful! Lovely table settings too. You did such a perfect job of putting everything all together.
Glad to be on the tour with you!
Atta Girl Amy
Thank you, Jessica. I do love all things vintage. Who says pink and blue aren’t Christmas colors! I’m really enjoying this tour and seeing how everyone interprets and decorates for Christmas differently. I’m so inspired by all of you.
Kim@NewlyWoodwards
Oh my word, I love it all. I can’t even pick a favoite. But I do have to say that your dining room is something out of my dreams. Love it. And I love that big fireplace and all the decor there. Totally inspiring!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Kim. The dining room is pretty fabulous — it definitely made an impression when we were house hunting. I’d never had a formal dining room before. And while I know some people don’t want them, I definitely did. I’m really looking forward to hosting family for Christmas in the dining room.
Shelia
You home looks so beautiful all dressed up in Christmas! I so enjoyed the tour of your beautiful home.

Shelia 😉
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks for stopping by, Sheila. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour. And I’ll work on being a sweetie. (It may be a challenge!) 🙂
ColleenwithJustPaintIt
It’s all just fabulous, Beth! I wish I could come visit in person too! I’d be that nosy gal with her magnifying specs on, checking out that gorgeous stair railing garland, or the one on top of the armoire, or . . . . yeah, that’d be me. 🙂
Atta Girl Amy
Just don’t put on the white gloves and search for dust or open the doors of the armoire. You may not like what you find inside!
Courtney
Absolutely lovely Amy!!! I love your home and style~ so pretty decked for Christmas too!!! Pinning!!
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Courtney. You are welcome to make a return visit any time. 🙂

Atta Girl Amy
Thanks so much. Glad to be on this tour with you.
Stacey
Wow your home is amazing! I love all the ribbons, ornaments, and special touches. Great ideas!!
Atta Girl Amy
My friend Barb at The Everyday Home was my source for the ribbon. She’s selling it in her online shop now. It is amazing fabric ribbon and such a great price.
Jennifer @ Town and Country Living
You have a beautiful home, Amy. I’ve got a huge crush on your living room couch, by the way! Love all your vintage ornaments … they’re my fave … followed closely by the magnolia leaves which I love!!
Atta Girl Amy
There’s quite a story behind that living room couch. It used to be upholstered entirely in the floral linen pattern, but that didn’t hold up to daily use. But I wasn’t ready to lose the fabric completely, so I had the seats reupholstered in a solid. (I couldn’t afford to reupholster it in the linen again!)
Pat@Back Porch Musings
Gorgeous inspiration all through your home, Amy!
Merry Christmas
Atta Girl Amy
Thanks, Pat. I’m looking forward to seeing your tour later this week. 🙂
Christy @ Our Southern Home

Atta Girl Amy
Come on over, but know that I’ll be making a visit to your place soon, too. I can be there this afternoon. Just send me directions.
Becca
Amy, your holiday home is incredible! I love the eclectic feel and how each room flows into the next! The tree in your living room is absolutely gorgeous! And, I want to curl up with a great read in your keeping room! Love the vintage sled … Happy Holdays!
Atta Girl Amy
Bring a book and we’ll hang out together in the keeping room. But I’ll warn you, I usually fall asleep on the sofa or the recliner in that room. If I snore, just give me a shake!
Thanks for your kind words about my home. I can’t wait for your tour later this week.
Sonya ~At Home with The Barkers

Atta Girl Amy
First snow we get, let’s find a big hill and take our sleds out. You can go first…
