It’s Tuesday night, and you know what that means — party time!

Is anyone else having flashbacks to college? You know, back when you didn’t have to wait for the weekend to throw or go to a party?

It’s time for Home{work} Wednesday #2.

Homework Wednesday Linky Party

We had a great turnout for our inaugural Home{work} Wednesday linky party. There were so many inspiring links — home decor projects, recipes, crafts, room makeovers and garden projects.  You guys definitely don’t slack on your homework. Everyone earns a gold star!

Before I announce the winner of the $100 Visa gift card and share my favorites, I wanted to be share the top-viewed links from last week’s party.

This sitting room makeover by Raising May Flowers earned the most clicks, and it’s no wonder. What a wonderful transformation.

spring porch makeover by Housepitality Designs

My friend (and booth partner) Shirley of Housepitality Designs caught your attention with her spring porch makeover.

Great work, ladies.

Of course, every teacher has a pet, and your hosts of Home{work} Wednesday are no different. We each picked our favorites. Be sure to head over to Worthing Court, The Everyday Home and Marty’s Musings to see who Suzy, Barb and Marty picked.

Now, for the three project that I thought really earned the grade. These ladies earned an A++ from me.

Jane at Cottage at the Crossroads is a phenomenal gardener, and I’m in love with her Topsy Turvy Galvanized Buckets.

flower bed by Penny's Vintage Treasures

Clearly, the warm weather (finally) is calling me outdoors. I think this Flower Bed from Penny’s Vintage Home, made from a real bed!!!, is the coolest thing ever. Her entire yard and patio is amazing.

hand painted bird pie plate diy by Rook No. 17

I really must steal this idea for Bird Stenciled Pie Pans by Rook No. 17. How cool would it be to give someone a pie baked in one of these dishes.

Congratulations on your stellar report cards. You made the grade. If you were featured, feel free to grab the button below.

  2. […] We replaced and updated everything in the living room from the floor to ceiling except the mirror and brass lamps. The process started by laying hardwood floors and now I am in the furnishing stage! I’m choosing investment pieces for this room. Things that will stand the test of time.  Relaxed neutrals with classic lines. No trendy styles here… except maybe in some accent pieces. The table was tough to decide on! I knew I did not want a painted piece… or dark wood… or black like my end tables. I was really leaning towards re- purposed wood to bring a little texture and character into the room. But, I also wanted to keep the lines pretty clean with a few classic embellishments. I found it in this SWENSON COFFEE TABLE from Ethan Allen. The wood is not re-purposed but sandblasted then finished with “slightly metallic pearlescent highlights”. That’s the description from the great Ethan Allen folks. The undertones of the coffee table work well with neutrasl! I call this color “mushroom”. The lines and embellishments work so well with the other pieces I have. They also keep the piece from looking to modern or cottage (love cottage, though). Now I’m on the search for some pretty baskets for the bottom shelf!  Tonight we are going to look at a little chest I found on Craig’s list.  I want to put an interesting painted chest between the window and the door… under the Kessler painting of the row houses in Paris. I’m excited to get out my paintbrushes and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and get to work! Here’s my inspiration… LOVE this chest! Actually I am a little obsessed with it! It has fabric that has been adhered to the piece and then painted over. And the front is covered with raised curlacues. It is GORGEOUS in person!  source Here’s where it will go… It’s great to finally have a coffee table to pull the room together! WOW US WEDNESDAY HOMEWORK WEDNESDAY […]
