I hope you’ll indulge me a little storytelling before we get to the giveaway portion of this post — a $100 gift certificate to Origami Owl from independent designer Candace Harrison.
That’s what I call a Blogiversary Giveaway Bonanza Grand Prize!
I started out on this blogging journey because I felt that I was stagnating creatively.
I stayed up late every night reading others blogs and pinning ideas on Pinterest and feeling so inspired. But every morning when the sun came up, it was back to the grind and busy-ness of life.
I didn’t hate my life, but it wasn’t the life I dreamed for myself.
So, I wrote myself a little manifesto, which you’re probably tired of hearing about, and I made creativity a priority. Because I didn’t feel like I could breathe without it.
Here I am a year later, breathing easier. I’m busier than ever as I juggle blogging, a career, wifedom, motherhood, homemaking and several entrepreneurial creative endeavors.
But I do find that my heart is lighter and my home is brighter (to borrow from my blog’s mission statement). Because I am nurturing my creativity. I am allowing myself to dream — and I am following my dreams.
I’m not limiting myself or telling myself that I can’t do something. I’m going for it, trying different things, taking risks, tackling new things and learning new skills every day.
I am dreaming. And I am doing.
I think everyone should give that a try. If there’s a secret to happiness, that’s it.
I wear this blogger’s necklace almost everyday as a tangible reminder to focus on my dreams.
A few months back, I was at a local holiday market when I happened upon a booth for Origami Owl jewelry.
I’ve always loved charm jewelry, so I immediately fell in love with Origami Owl’s living lockets and charms. And I knew exactly what story I wanted to tell with my locket — my blogging story.
I chose a large rose gold locket with crystals and added a plate stamped with the word, “Dream.” For my charms, I chose a camera, a computer, the initial A and a painter’s palette — all tools of my trade as a blogger and furniture painter.
The wonderful thing about a Living Locket necklace is that you can tell your story by choosing charms, plates, tags and other embellishments that represent what’s important to you.
Candace Harrison, who is a local independent designer for Origami Owl, has generously offered one of my readers a $100 gift certificate to build your own Origami Owl Living Locket.
Actually, what that much money, you could probably build several necklaces, as lockets start at $20 and charms are just $5. That is going to be one lucky winner!
There are so many beautiful and fun options with this jewelry.
How about a Downton Abbey necklace, if you can forgive the show for Matthew’s fate?
Or a necklace to inspire yourself — or someone else — to pursue a passion?
Maybe your pooch has stolen your heart.
Or you’re the bookish sort, who loves settling in with a great novel and a steaming cup of coffee.
Mother’s day is coming up — how about something charming for mom or Nana?
As you can see, Origami Owl is truly personal jewelry. It’s a way to tell your story and share it with the world. Kinda like a blog you wear around your neck.
Please visit Candace’s Origami Owl store and shop around. Pick out your favorite charms and embellishments, then share what those are in a comment.
Then, be sure to fill out the Rafflecopter form to enter the giveaway for a $100 gift certificate to Origami Owl from independent designer Candace Harrison.
Lastly, if you have a dream and would like to share it here, I would love to hear it. I’ve found that by writing out my dreams and goals and sharing them with others I’m more motivated to pursue them. Sometimes, all you need is a cheerleader or a sounding board, and I’m happy to be that for you, as I am so grateful for all the people who have encouraged and supported me during this past year.
To enter the giveaway, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below.
Be sure to visit Atta Girl Says all this week for other great giveaways, including a handmade basket, a Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint Sampler Pack, a $25 gift certificate from Farmhouse Decor and some Fish Foam to make your windows and mirrors sparkle.
Good luck in the giveaway and thank you so much for making my first blogging year such a wonderful one.
Entries for the Atta Girl Says Blogiversary Giveaway Bonanza will be accepted through midnight on Thursday, March 7. Winners will be announced the following week.
Disclosure: I purchased my Origami Owl Living Locket and was so in love with it that I contacted the company about doing a giveaway on the blog. Independent Designer Candace Harrison is generously donating a $100 gift certificate to one of my readers.
