If wealth were measured in Legos, I’m pretty sure we’d rank in the top 1 percent.
So, of course, my Lego-obsessed boy wanted to give Lego-themed Valentine’s Day cards to his kindergarten classmates.
But store-bought Valentines just wouldn’t do.
We’re Lego Creators, after all. We had to make our own Lego Valentine treat boxes.
It’s times like these when I’m so very happy that I have a Silhouette Cameo. The cutting machine made quick work out of what could have been a very time consuming project.
To make these, I used the bracket window rectangle box by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette online store.
I removed the window bracket and sized down the boxes so I could fit 2 on a single 8.5X11 sheet of paper. Then I drew some circles to attach to the top of the Lego blocks.
I cut each box out of colorful card stock.
We used foam dimensional adhesive to attach the circles to the tops of the boxes so they’d look like Legos. I recommend using a strong glue like Tombo or Sticky Strip adhesive to assemble the boxes, instead of regular double-sided tape or scrapbook adhesive. You need something durable and sturdy.
We personalized each Lego treat box with a Valentine’s message — “I like you like a ton of bricks.” (My son rejected, “I love you like a ton of bricks,” “Let’s connect,” “I’m stuck on you,” “Best friend on the block,” Love you like a ton of bricks,” “Valentine, don’t Lego my heart,” and “I fell for you like a ton of bricks.”)
To replicate the Lego logo, I downloaded the font Legothick from urbanfonts and installed it on my computer. The cute little mini figure image is part of the font set, and my son had fun coloring them all in. He left the mini figure on the sentiment card undecorated so his classmates could color theirs in.
I love how these turned out, and I hope Jackson’s classmates will love them, too.
Bonus – this was a great family craft project. I cut the assembled the Valentine treat boxes while my husband and son glued on the dots and decorated the insides.
I’d love for you to check out my other Valentine’s Day craft, decorating and treat ideas.
I like to cut up a lot, too, with my Silhouette Cameo, so be sure to check out my roundup of Silhouette Cameo crafts.

What a fabulous idea! I wish my little boy wasn’t too old for a Lego party … he’ll be 13 in just a couple of weeks. Oh! how I miss the Lego days!
