It seems like whenever my friend, Debbie, and I get together, we have real estate on the brain.

Debbie is my designer showhouse buddy. We’ve toured so many together over the years, and this weekend, we were up to our old tricks.

We attended Chic Chateau, which has been the talk of the town for several weeks. Two homebuilders and lots of local designers teamed up to decorate two new homes to benefit Habitat for Humanity. The cool thing about these two houses were that many of the furnishings and accessories were upcycled secondhand finds. So, visiting the Chic Chateau homes was like a DIY/home decor blog come to life.

There were so many great DIY ideas in both houses. So much to inspire.

I loved this old sewing machine cabinet repurposed as a desk.

I love all the creative storage in this laundry room. I just love the clothespin holder!

Aren’t these towel holders in the powder room so clever?

I only snapped a few shots of the showhouses because my friend, Suzy of Worthing Court is doing a series of posts about them. Last week, she wrote about the homes’ foyers and living areas. Later this week, she’s sharing kitchens, mudrooms and laundry rooms.

Here’s the full schedule.

  • Kitchens, Laundry Rooms and Mudrooms – Oct. 4th
  • Dining Rooms – Oct. 11th
  • Master Bedrooms and Baths – Oct. 18th
  • Other Bedrooms and Baths – Oct. 25th
  • Office and Bonus Spaces – Nov. 1st
  • Exteriors – Nov. 8th
  • Details and Inspiration – Nov 15th

Make sure you visit Worthing Court to see all the pretty decor and be inspired.
