Ballard Designs Rope Knot Doorstop Knockoff

I first spied this Rope Knot Doorstop in the Ballard Designs catalog earlier this summer:

I’ve been crushing on all things nautical lately, but I did “knot” love the price of this item.

$45 — you have to be kidding me.

It’s on sale now for $36, still much too steep in my opinion.

Then I remembered a little box of nautical stuff I had stashed in the attic, bought last year at Christmas Tree Shops during their super-end-of-the-year clearance. We’re talking 90 percent off.

In that box, I found not one — but several — red rope knot doorstops. I styled one atop a pile of books this dresser.

A very close approximation to Ballard’s. But the price was oh so much nicer.

Not 30 dollars. 30 cents.

That’s my kind of knockoff. And since I bought this last year, I guess the Ballard Designs version is really the knockoff!

And wouldn’t you know it, the Christmas Tree Shops is having its summer end-of-season clearance now. Wonder what decor treasures I can find there this year.
