By the time you’re reading this, I hope to be loaded down with so much vintage goodness I’ll need an 18-wheeler to haul it back to North Carolina.
This weekend, I’m at a vintage shoppers’ paradise, hobnobbing with the likes of Miss Mustard Seed and Stylish Patina. That’s right, I’m roadtrippin’ it to the Old Lucketts Store Spring Market.
My husband and son are indulgent enough to accompany on my vintage shopping pilgrimages, of which there are many. But Lucketts Spring Market is like the holy grail. I’ve heard so much about it around the blogosphere that it topped my flea market bucket list..
I can’t wait to shop and to be inspired by all the talents here and to hopefully buy a few things for our home. (Shh… don’t tell my husband. Think I can hide a big piece of furniture in the back of the van without him noticing? Probably!)
While I’m going to Lucketts Market this year as a shopper, my hope is to someday return as a vendor. So, not only is this a shopping trip but a scouting trip where I hope to learn from the other vendors and connect with other creative types.
To celebrate my trip to Lucketts, we have a special giveaway going on this weekend for Lucketts shoppers and would-be and wanna-be shoppers.
Mosey on over to our Facebook page for more details on how you can win one of my vintage-inspired hand painted signs. You can choose from one of the small signs I already have in inventory, or I will make you a sign on antique wainscoting.
And if you’re at Lucketts, message me through the Atta Girl Says Facebook page and let’s meet up so you can show me what you bought. If it’s something good, I may try to arm wrestle you for it!

Amy, found your blog through the Lucketts blog. Wasn’t the Spring Market to-die-for?!!!! They had so much great stuff. I still have to unload my trunk and do a blog post on my fabulous finds. Can’t wait to see your goods too!

I so agree. And I’m glad I’m not the only one slow in getting my treasures inside. I actually had to pick my son up from school Monday with a piece of furniture still in the van. I promise to take photos soon and write a Lucketts post. It’s just been a busy week; my son is graduating — from preschool! I’m thinking I’ll have time Thursday because I’ll have two sets of grandparents around to babysit.
I can’t wait to see your treasures, as well.
You know, Kelly of Stylish Patina started as a “picker” for MissMustardSeed! And it was in a conversation last year at Lucketts between MMS and TheThriftress that gave Sarah (thriftress) the courage to rent a space at Wild Rose & Co (called Persephone in conglomeration with Cassie of Primitive and Proper) and she just had her first year at Lucketts with that group! So, I say that if this type of thing is your gig, then don’t wait! Go for it! It looks like so much fun!
My aspiration is to open up a big stand in the middle of the field (near the band) to sell Fountain Diet Coke, Iced Coffee (for Pamela PBJStories who COULD NOT BELIEVE there was no iced coffee available!), and access to an ATM. Tell me that wouldn’t be the hottest spot in the Market, YES?! i KNOW.
Let’s keep in touch!!

Angie, I had no idea how all those fabulous vendors/bloggers got started. I would have thought they’d been doing it forever… Just goes to show what a motivated and passionate woman can accomplish.
I think you’ve come up with some brilliant ideas for making Lucketts even better. Make sure to add Coke Zero to your stand. That’s my drink of choice. And I think an ATM is brilliant! I’m surprised they didn’t have one. And maybe one of those fancy “executive” port-a-johns, too, with air conditioning and a real sink to wash your hands. Hey, if they have those at golf tournaments, surely they can have them at antique markets! I think we’ve just designed the perfect antique fair.
Thank you so much for the encouragement; as soon as I can get through preschool graduation this week, I’m going to start working in earnest on getting some stuff ready to sell for an upcoming local show. Then to picking and prepping to make my dream come true.
Let’s definitely stay in touch.
